Food Allergy

If you note any food allergy reaction whenever you or your love ones ate certain food ... from rashes, cough to asthma and anaphylactic reaction ... confirm it with an allergy test ... besides taking food allergen off the recipe and menu ... you need to ensure that there are no cross contamination from the worktop to equipments used ... read labels of packaged products ... unsured don't use ... it can be life threatening for someone with severe allergy and anaphylactic reaction.

Sweet Potato Kang Kong Lemak

Ingredients:
  • 300 - 500 gm sweet potato
  • 300 - 500 gm kang kong
  • 1 pkt coconut cream
  • 15 - 30 gm dried prawns, rinse and soak
  • 150 gm shallot
  • 50 gm garlic
  • 15 gm dried chilli, rinse, cut shorter, soak
  • oil
  • water
Procedure:
  1. washed sweet potatoes ...  peel and cut into bite size ... set aside ...
  2. wash kang kong ... cut off end and break off or cut kang kong ... set aside ...
  3. wash dried chilli ... cut shorter ... soak in water ...
  4. peel shallots, garlic ... rinse and cut into smaller pieces ...
  5. blend shallots, garlic, dried chilli with some water ... set aside ...
  6. fired blended paste with dried prawns till fragrant ...
  7. add sweet potato ... stir and mixed well with the fried paste ...
  8. cover and simmer for about 5 - 10 mins till sweet potato almost cook ...
  9. add ikan bilis stock cube or powder, coconut milk ... and water if necessary ... stir and mixed well ...
  10. add kang kong ... stir and mixed well ...
  11. dish is ready when sweet potatoes, kang kong are cook ... and the sauce taste sweet and spicy  ...

  • this is one of the dish that my late dad used to cooked for the family
  • my mom in her 80s guided me thru cooking this dish
  • have taken note and hope my family and friends can refer to this note when they want to cook this dish

kangkong, sweet potato, shallot, garlic, dried chilli, coconut milk

wash sweet potatoes, peeled, cut into bite size, set aside

wash kang kong, cut off ends, break off or cut kang kong shorter, set aside

wash dried chilli, cut them shorter, soak in water

peel shallot and garlic, wash and cut smaller, set aside

blend shallots, garlic and dried chilli

fried blended paste with dried prawn till fragrant

add sweet potato and mixed well with the fried paste

add ikan bilis stock cube or powder, coconut milk and water if necessary, stir and mixed well

add kang kong, stir and mixed well, dish is done when sweet potatoes and kangkong are cooked
